Going Piblic

Going Public

I just received permission to have my book, Faith in a Box included in the Sumter County Library. It’s a wonderfully strange feeling to see This happen. I am hoping for approval for our church library at New Covenant as well. Even though I have backed off from media blasts, I am still trying to promote this book and still ask for your help. In the future I will be posting daily something about Faith in a Box. I hope you will all still share these posts with your friends. Remember for those living around the Villages. Saturday December 14 will be my book signing at Family Christian Book store; 11:00am to 3:00 pm. Hope to see you there.

Faith in a Box

It probably isn't nice to ask your friends for help, but if I can't ask you, then who can I ask? I am not supported by a huge publishing company advertising in magazines or on cable networks. I am alone attempting to promote this by myself. However, with your help, and the power of God, we will succeed.
Here's what I'm asking. On the 19th, and for 5 days the book will be available on Kindle for free. It cost you nothing to download a copy. Even if you already have it you can always dump it later, I just need the numbers.
Next, pleas consider going back to where the book is on Amazon and leave a review. The more reviews I get, the better my standings are with amazon. Good, bad, indifferent. Make up a name so no one knows it was you. Give it one star, give it 5. How ever you honestly feel.

Perhaps this is the most important, yet the easiest for you. When ever you see anything about the book on Face Book, Google+ or twitter. Please pass it on to your friends.
I have a couple of hundred friends on face book. You might have a hundred different friends. If you all pass it on, then suddenly its not a hundred seeing the message, its a thousand. Do this every time you see a post about the book. Just click share.
Its not easy for me to ask for help, but as you all already know, I believe I am doing what God wants me to do. So once again, please help me. Read on the blog at www.rickgreenbergauthor.com why I wrote the book.

Time Spent With God

I spent the last weekend, Sunday through Tuesday on a men retreat. This is the first retreat I've been on in a long time. The time spent was Physically relaxing, but more important, it was spiritually healing. I did a lot of soul searching and listened as our Pastor who taught us about true forgiveness. We studied the Lords prayer, or at least the first five parts. Perhaps the most significant is something I knew, but because the words had been softened, I forgot. I'm talking about "Forgive us out trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us."
That in its self never rang true to me. What Jesus spoke of when he said, "Forgive us our Sins, as we forgive those who have sinned against us." He was saying, you must first forgive the sins of others, even those who have hurt you, before God is going to forgive your sins. Its not as simple as saying to God, I'm sorry, unless those who have sinned against you, have been forgiven by you.
Well, that was the most important thing I learned this past weekend. I must forgive anyone who has hurt me, and I must ask forgiveness from anyone whom I have hurt. So to all those I have sinned against, I'll be looking you up.
Thanks and God Bless you all
Rick

A new page

Hi all, I have a knew page and it’s on Amazon.com. You can get ti it by clicking onto http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B00FF8KTDK. Here you can get quick looks at my blog. View the video, purchase either the paperback, or the e-book. Easily go to any thing you like. Feel free to spread the word, and if you have read the book, think about going to Amazon.com, Faith in a Box and leave a review. Thanks to all and enjoy.

Why the book, Faith in a Box
When you read my book you will learn why I wrote this story. Believe me, I never wanted to. I mean, who wants to tell all about themselves. Tell some dark secrets to the world, certainly not me. Maybe that is why I fought doing any more then what I had done, give a testimony to a friendly congregation. God wanted more from me but I didn’t want to admit it. I knew He did but by just ignoring those feelings, I figured I could just put it off indefinitely.
That all change when Kim got cancer. I have felt fear before. Having been in two wars facing death, or when a child is ill and you are filled with uncertainty. But on that November day, when Kim was diagnosed with advanced cancer, a cold sweat consumed my entire being. No one can explain sufficiently the loss of a spouse. No one can comfort you from such a loss. Why, because the one who can share your loss, is the one who loves you above all others, your best friend, your life long companion is the one gone.
I don’t know why but I feel God was leading me this way. He knew how I would react to Kim getting cancer. He knew how scared I would be. I love Kim and thoughts of losing her brought back the hurt and the pain from all those years ago. Writing the book is what helped get me through it. When in August Kim was cancer free, I knew God had saved her and I praised him for it. God didn’t give Kim cancer, but God knew what was coming and set me up for a quick kick to the behind. I figured out, what he wanted from me so many years ago, He was still waiting for. That’s why I wrote this book. To honor God and follow his will.

It has been a month since I last posted on this blog, I apologize for that. I've been so busy with other media that this blog, the one that started it all has been left behuind. I am writung another book while attempting to get Faith in a Bax released. Believe me, I think it is easier to write a book then to do all that is required to have it in print.

In any case, the proof will be mailed today and I could have it by tomorow or Monday. I will have more then one person proofing the book so it could take a week or two. The free Kindle download to all of you who have been wiating will take place after all my social media is contacted. You will have the chanse for the download. I will keep you informed.

So that's it, all the long hours and long nights of writing and rewriting, then rewriting again will soon bring the book I pray is what God wanted to write. I hope you and many more will read it and get peace from it. Talk to you all soon

Almost ready

The editor has completed her work and now I will be putting on the final touches and then its off to the publisher. Everything is going well. The cover is finished and the back cover is ready as well. I’m excited by all this, but I’m afraid too. I can tell all of you this. I’m not worried whether or not I make money, I just want people to read this book. I know that this is what God has wanted me to do and now that I am so close to finishing his work, I’m afraid. It has been a long eighteen months and my greatest fear is that I got it wrong.
Well, enough of that. I pray that soon you and many, many more will be reading Faith in a Box and all of you will see the grace of God. I hope you find the journey inspiring and your faith growing.

I brought my first two chapters to an editor. Her name is Claudette and she has done a lot of books for writers in the Villages. She is of course also a successful writer. I am hoping this will work out for me, if it does, then I will begin delivering the rest of the book to her. It won't be long now fans. Stay tuned, the book will soon be released.

Things are still moving along. I will be seeing an editor this weekend and hope this will work out for me. She is a true professional, and her cost is very reasonable. Hang in there gang, almost home now.

It's not easy writing a book, especially when one has never done it before. Writing a memoir is even more difficult. To protect everyone's privacy, I have changed most of the names . My name of course, has not changed. This in no way changes the facts. It is still true and accurate to the best of my memories, and the memories of all those who witnessed it.

I have found an editor and I an talking to her now. I have been doing a final read and hope to have it to her soon.
